salam...many are claiming about this sultanate issue..it's like a trend now a days..especially there in zamboanga and jolo..we dont really know who is the real one..everybody claiming they the real one..but to me it's not so important..who is the real sultan of jolo...but my question is..do we still believe that the sultanate can really govern?..are they allowed by the philippine government?..even the mnlf or milf and other group fighting for independence of minsupala have failed..beside,sultanate is similar to monarchy..and the west does not like it..which is happening now in the arab world..wallahu ahlam'

There should be no question on whether the Sultanate can really govern. The Philippine government has no absolute control over the SSDI. It is a sovereign State much older and have better rights than the Philippines over the territory of the Sulu Archipelago and its environs. The MNLF ande MILF and other groups have no right to claim for independence anywhere in the country, only the Sultanate of Sulu has. SSDI, although a monarchy, in essence it is a Constitutional Sultanate, more democratic than some western democracies are. It doesnot matter whether the West like it or not, what matters is the restoration of SSDI's independence and sovereignty. The Tausugs peoples of the world would be much better off under the SSDI than under any other nations in the world

sorry for this delay in my reply. i just came back from the sulu archipelago to personally get involve in various activities geared towards the re-institution of the sultanate of sulu darul islam (ssdi). for the information of everyone, the situation obtaining in that part of the world is very encouraging for the prime movers of ssdi. not only that the poor people, irrespective of creed and ethnicity, are highly craving for change, even the urbanite-elites and professionals are joining the ssdi bandwagon. it appears that none of those who have felt and understood the seriousness and mass support of the movement would want to be left out in the mad rush towards the restoration of the monarchy which sovereignty remains alive and secure in the annals and archives of many u.n. member nations. as for the form of government that ssdi is about to implement, it will be close to every muslim's idealism, and it would be most appropriate for all tausug citizens of the sulu archipelago, born/resident of (basilan, palawan, sabah, sulu and tawi-tawi) to help and serve the cause for the benefit of the downtrodden. those who cannot feel and see the need to bail out the indigenous peoples from the brink of poverty, has no place for them (in paradise and) in any god-fearing society. those who do should join in to hasten the achievement of the ssdi independence and bring back all the assets of the monarchy stashed in several banking institutions abroad to the tune of millions of trillions in u.s. dollars worth of gold bullion. to some unlearned people, it sounds absurd, but let me assure you, you can find some leads on the internet, although am not authorized to divulge any as yet. for our own mutual benefit, please find out the truth through researches if you do not trust our way of doing things and giving out information on the issue. but the invitation is open for you to come and join us anytime, if you may. tq

it's a pity that there are still a few tausugs who are ignorant of their history. the problem however is not in perennially promoting such ignorance, but in trying to campaign those with little knowledge who already wanted to accept the fact that the sultanate of sulu darul islam has been an independent state which never lost her sovereignty despite being forced into colonial subjugation through treachery and deceit. worse still, this small group of tausugs who apparently have already been brainwashed mentally by their colonial masters have already reached a subservient conclusion that only through military superiority (victory in armed confrontation) over the enemy can independence be achieved. Their yardstick was the failure of the MNLF to achieve the objective in spite of its unity and military prowess. They don't even want to be convinced by the fact that there is already a semblance of recognition by the colonial government in more ways than one. hopefully, however, none of them would turn recalcitrant to become enemy of the state to become outlaws in defending their stubborn antagonism borne out of ignorance of historical facts against sultanate's duly constituted authorities.
